Do you have a personal collection that you are looking to downsize, an estate that you are responsible for liquidating, or a small stack of books that you are ready to pass on? We are always looking for quality books to add to our shelves at Big Story. Please read below for more details.

How Does It Work?

Big Story prides itself on providing a thoughtfully curated collection of books and movies. We will review your books based on 1) the condition, 2) customer interest, and 3) our current inventory. Books, DVDs/Blu-Rays/Vinyl must be in very good condition. We typically do not accept books with creased spines, torn or missing dust jackets, water or smoke damage. Your contributions (basically giving Big Story books that will enhance our inventory) are accepted and greatly appreciated! Selling? We’ll make store credit or cash offers, typically in 20 minutes or less.

• Manuals (auto, home improvement,medical, etc.)
• Cookbooks (more than three years old)
• History Books (most published prior to 2015)
• Mystery/Thriller Books (most published prior to 2015)
• Magazines
• VHS
• Cassette Tapes
• Books with creased spines

When Do We Accept Books/Movies?

Up to 20 Books/Movies: Walk-ins welcome everyday from 10AM-3PM.

More than 20 Books/Movies: Email us at bigstorybend@gmail.com and include photos of your books/movies (showing the spines of the books/movies) in your email. We will review the photos and typically respond within two business days.

What Do We Currently Buy & Accept?

Books must be in “Like New” or “Very Good” condition. Classics (published prior to 1980 will typically be accepted with additional wear or damage). 

Like New: The book looks new but has been read. Item may have very minor cosmetic defects on the cover, spine, pages or dust cover. Dust cover is intact and pages are clean and not marked.

Very Good: The book has been read but is in excellent condition. May have minor visible defects on the cover, spine, pages or dust cover. There are no missing or damaged pages, no tears or creases, and no underlining/highlighting or writing in the margins.

What Do We Pay?

Store credit offer is 75¢-$2 for most books. Store credit offer for some current year books is $2-$5. We offer more for books with a higher value. Store credit offer for kids books is 50¢-$1. Store credit offer DVDs and Blu-Rays is 75¢-$1. Cash offers are approximately half of the store credit amounts.

Have an estate with books/movies/vinyl that you’re not sure what to do with? We will visit your estate (preferably before your public sale) and in most cases offer to purchase select books/movies/vinyl.
